Aleksandr Rodchenko Booklet

Aleksandr Rodchenko Booklet
This booklet was an assignment in my 2nd semester of university and it was the first time I'd been asked to make an entire booklet with the freedom of doing all types of creative ideas and personal experimentation. I thought that the idea of dual-tone colours was what interested me most, so I made a board of all the interesting techniques and watched a bunch of tutorials to use things like bitmap and gradient maps on adobe photoshop. Whilst making this booklet, I got to learn insane amounts of information about Russian Constructivism that was so interesting and that I never thought I'd know that much about. It was fun researching about Rodchenko's life and how entangled it was with the Arab world and introducing communism to various countries.
In some of the pages i'd have text hidden within the pictures in the opposite colour, that can be more visible when you slide a coloured stencil sheet over it. Yellow made red more visible on blue backgrounds and the red made blue more visible when it was on a red background. Figuring that part was especially difficult to figure out when test-printing and such, but it looked nice in a pocket in front of the references page at the end. This specific project made me especially interested in Editorial Design and how interesting you can make a booklet.
